Casement Windows

Heritage proportions. Modern performance.

Bespoke Timber Casement Windows

Casement windows are outward-opening timber frames, hinged at the side or top, and operating on durable friction stays or traditional butt hinges. Our design features a flush profile, where the sash sits perfectly level with the frame, creating a clean, elegant aesthetic and refined sightlines suited to both period and contemporary properties.

Originating from Tudor Britain and refined over the centuries, casement windows have evolved into a hallmark of simplicity and efficiency. Today’s builds preserve the timeless geometry while incorporating modern performance features such as Low-E double or slimline glazing, warm-edge spacers, compression seals, and precision-engineered drainage to achieve exceptionally low air leakage.

Ventilation is managed through side-hung or top-hung openings, with secure night-vent positions and discreet trickle vents to meet Part F requirements. Available options include equal-sightline layouts, astragal or leaded glazing bars, bay or oriel configurations, any RAL or stained finish, and multi-point espagnolette locking with PAS 24-ready specifications for full compliance with Parts L and Q where required.

Types of Casement Window

Four opening actions cover most briefs. Pick the hinge position that suits the room; add Low-E glazing, compression seals, and trickle vents to meet performance targets.

Single Opening

Single Opening Type

Outward opening on one side using friction stays or butt hinges. Secure night-vent positions and easy cleaning; the default choice for most rooms.

Full Opening

Full Opening Type

Two side-hung leaves with no central post for an unobstructed aperture. Strong airflow and egress-friendly where required.

Top Opening

Top Opening Type

Opening at the top to vent while shedding rain. Works above sinks, in bathrooms, and on exposed elevations.

Bottom Opening

Bottom Opening Type

Opening at the bottom to tilt outwards, secure ventilation where projecting sashes aren't suitable; useful for basements and stairwells
