Sash Windows

Heritage proportions. Modern performance.

Bespoke Timber Sash Windows

Sash windows are traditional vertical-sliding timber frames in which one or both sashes open using either classic cord-and-weight pulleys or modern concealed spring balances. The design originated in Georgian and Victorian Britain, giving period homes their characteristic slim meeting rails, fine glazing bars, and perfectly balanced proportions.

Contemporary sash windows retain these elegant sightlines while incorporating modern performance features such as Low-E double or slimline heritage glazing, warm-edge spacers, and continuous draught seals. Ventilation is naturally controlled by opening both top and bottom sashes to create a stack effect, improving airflow without outward-projecting leaves.

We offer a wide range of configurations, including bay, bow, and arched designs, bespoke glazing bar layouts, and any RAL or stained finish. All specifications can be tailored to meet Parts L and F requirements, with PAS 24-ready security for Part Q compliance.
